Early education for young deaf children and their caregivers in Ghana

New research that investigates the early education for young deaf children and their caregivers in Ghana starts at the University of Leeds January 2020. This project is funded by the British Academy’s Early Childhood Education Programme, supported under the Global Challenges Research Fund.

This project aims to build understandings of the social-cultural and resource dynamics surrounding young deaf children and their families in Ghana where early child development and inclusive education for all is a strategic priority.

The project is led by Professor Ruth Swanwick (School of Education, University of Leeds, UK) in collaboration with Dr. Alexander Oppong and Dr. Yaw Offei (University of Education, Winneba, Ghana)

Dr Jackie Salter will support the development of evidence-based early education training and resources and Dani Fobi will provide project support and lead on engagement with UK and Ghana stakeholders.

Regular updates on the project will be posted on our project page and twitter feed.
